Welcome to Dronninglund Archive

Purpose

The purpose of the Local History Archive for Dronninglund is to collect, register, preserve and disseminate local historical material relating to Dronninglund, Ørsø, Østerled, Try, Storskoven and Jordbroen.
The archive thereby helps to secure the area's "common memory".

Background

The archive was founded in 1981, and until 2010 had premises in the basement of Dronninglund School, but has now moved to a municipal villa on Erantisvej 6, 9330 Dronninglund.

Everyone should be welcome to look inside on the archive's opening days or by appointment. Tuesday is working day, so look in, there will be people at work between kl. 9 and at. 12.

What do you find at the Archive?

At Dronninglund Local History Archive you can find many exciting stories. The archive has an extensive collection of original archives, photographs, including

  • Approximately 50.000 glass plate negatives and ordinary negatives from the period 1898-2000 as well as a large photo collection.
  • A large number of archives about the occupation and the local resistance groups in Dronninglund.
  • The local weekly newspaper, Østvendsyssel Avis, from the beginning of 1904 until today.
  • A large collection of clippings from various newspapers.
  • Various material from Dronninglund Castle as well as from farms, houses and shops in Dronninglund town and parish.
  • Copied church registers as well as micro maps and censuses on film as well as a number of cleanly written church registers and censuses.
  • Copies of deeds, land registers and survival records from Dronninglund Estate 1754.
  • Pauper protocol for Dronninglund Fattiggård approx. 1869-1897
  • A large collection of films and books about Dronninglund Parish
  • A large material about Dronninglund Municipality and the school system.

If you have material or photos from Dronninglund town and parish, you are welcome to either drop by the archive at Erantisvej 6 or send an email to the archive at dronninglunarkiv@outlook.dk for further agreement. The archive will gladly take a copy of your material.

First Tuesday of the month at 18 - 21 and 4th Thursday of the month at 13 - 16
