The Museum of Psychiatric History takes you on the journey up through time from the most ancient times, through the Middle Ages, up through the Enlightenment, further into the period under the "State Mental Health Service" and finally through more recent times.

The last part of the exhibition will be related to the two North Jutland State Hospitals, as they were called at the time in Brønderslev and Aalborg, respectively.

It has taken a good 5 years and several hundred hours for a group of former psychiatric employees to build up the Museum of Psychiatric History.

The museum is open:

1st Tuesday of each month at 11.00-15.00

3rd Saturday of each month at 12.30-16.00

Closed December. Admission DKK 20 for adults and children from 14 years.

Guided tours and additional openings are available for a fee by calling the person in charge, Agnete Karlsson, on tel. 2467 9785.
