The Center for Danish Jazz History in Aalborg houses one of Europe's largest and finest jazz collections with records, CDs, films, videos, audio tapes, literature, magazines, clippings archives and memorabilia.

The jazz center researches Danish jazz history and publishes books on the subject. The Jazz Center is the setting for a number of activities for the audience, including smaller concerts, jazz talks with local and guest musicians, record nights, lectures, film screenings and radio cinema.

Center for Danish Jazz's background

The Center for Danish Jazz was established in 2006 as part of the Faculty of Humanities at Aalborg University, but has since 1 January 2016 gained independent status as a non-profit foundation with its own board. AAU contributes to the jazz centre's activities, as does the sponsor association "Center for Friends of Danish Jazz History".
